Actually, that is only part of the reason. We like to keep things simple. Adding big, colorful graphics and flashing lights and buttons to a site does nothing to provide information. Really, we believe it degrades the quality of the site and detracts from the message. "Busy" web pages load slowly, thereby undermining the total browsing experience for a visitor.
As noted above, that is only part of the answer. Another part is that we put this site up to provide a little information about our company while we work on enhancing what you see. Our web development strategy is to write the content first, followed by enhancing the appearance of each page. This tends to work well for our clients, so we're using it ourselves.
Finally, we're working on this site ourselves, rather than paying our normal web-development contractor to do it. We endeavour to keep costs down so we can provide quality services at a reasonable price. Why should we have to charge you 10-20% more just to have the "World's Prettiest Website?"
